4 out of 5 stars Quite entertaining   April 10, 2010

I laughed, hollered, and cried. I couldn't put it down. I'm a Yankee married to a Texan. I found myself reading much of this book out loud for him. Texans are really like this! Generous, protective of there own, simple, and kind. I could totally relate to "Amanda-lee" in being suspicious of the Dailyians kindness.

5 out of 5 stars Not your usual christian book   April 9, 2010

I read books from many different genres. I rarely finish books that are christian based because they tend to be preachy judgemental and overtly sacharin in proclaiming their views. I did not want to put this book down. The use of imagery was wonderful. The humorous attitudes were refreshing. The theme of this book of self analysis instead of judging others and helping accepting and loving them is enriching and rewarding. This book I will gift to my dearest friends.

I didnt LOL, I didn't cry, I just didn't care for these cardboard characters. It was a combination "Crush in the City/Petticoat Junction" kind of a book. Based on this, I would take a pass on any of the author's other books.

5 out of 5 stars Didn't want it to end!   April 1, 2010

What a fun ride this book is. I didn't want it to end. Mandalay and Carter's romance was sweet and satisfying, and I especially enjoyed Mandalay's friendship with the elderly widow in the book, Imagene. This book took me to another world, and I didn't want it to end!
