 A Kindle bible a last!! August 27, 2010

Pros:
1. I like to carry my Kindle 2 to church instead of my BIG and HEAVY Bible.
Cons:
1. When I open it the first time and search for a verse, it said there's problem with the indexing. Luckily when I open the THIRD time, the indexing stuff is fixed and I could search for a verse eg Matthew 2:22. It will open location for Matthew 22 and Matthew 2. I'm not sure the indexing is dum dum or what.
2. I got about 200 books in my Kindle, and to get to my Bible, I need to go to page 8 out of 11 every time. I would prefer to click once and VOILA! my bible is open.

I'm still looking for a Bible that is actually "Formatted for the Kindle." This is the second one I bought, and it has the same failing as the first one: it's too slow. I want to be able to find the verse before the preacher has moved on to his next point, please.
On my DX the cursor movements lag far behind input from the joystick. I always have to pause for the cursor to catch up, or reverse motion because of overshoot. Running a column of links all the way down the left margin just doesn't work well. I guess I'll have to write the publisher and clue them in on how to write a Table of Contents.

I just read an earlier review of this book, which totally bashes the Christian religion by calling the ones who wrote it plagiarists. How sick. No other supposed mythologies were stolen from, and I know of no anti Christian scholar that adopts such a claim. There have been multiple archealogical and historical facts in the book that have been proven, so the book has at the very least a small amount of credibility. Now whether it's true for religious purposes or not is up for debate by philiosophers, but please--if you are going to bash any religion (which all religions are protected by the First Amendment) at least know what you're talking about.

I'm 74 years old and my son gave me a Kindle for Mother's Day this year. At first I wasn't sure if I could get use to reading on the Kindle. I still prefer my real "book" bible but I will say that this bible is very easy to read using the Kindle. I especially like how I can change the size of the text and read it without straining my eyes. I travel a lot so now I can pack a little lighter by taking my Kindle and this bible everywhere I go.

I really like the navigation features when reading this on my Kindle. I also downloaded the Kindle for PC version and can now easily read and navigate through the entire bible on my PC in text that is larger, clear and easy to read. For those that don't own a Kindle and just want a good PC version of the bible, this is a great buy. The table of contents takes you exactly where you want to go. And, within each chapter, you can click on any chapter and verse link and a complete list of hyperlinks for the entire chapter pops up for even further navigation.
