This is not your typical romance. It takes place in a dungeon. The hero and heroine join together to stay alive in a group of ruthless prisoners. The romance is under a lot of pressure from their dungeon mates and a ruthless king that has wrongly imprisoned both of them. Can trust be established in such conditions. Both have a lot to gain or lose if they are betrayed by the other. But love conquers all, love hopes in the face of doom. Not the best story from a favorite author but as difficult as this story is, I still enjoyed it and wait impatiently for more from this author. This is not novel length but the price is also small.

As the King's healer and former friend, Caelan holds a special place in society. But when she angers her King and refuses to betray her best friend, she is thrown into the Abyss: a dungeon that nobody ever returns from.
Shocked by the abrupt turn of events, Caelan is forced to turn to Garron, a former Protector, in the dungeon for protection. With nothing else but her body to trade, she surrenders herself in order to remain alive another day. But Garron is determined that he pleasure her also, and not just use her body for release.
As they struggle to survive and discover their passion for each other in the daily danger they face, Caelan and Garron also find that their singular talents compliment and enhance each other's powers. Can they escape the treachery and lies, or will they die in each other's arms in the Abyss?
Dark Heat is a wonderfully woven story, surrounded by magic, danger, treachery and passion. I loved every moment that Caelan and Garron had together, and was desperate for things to work out for them when it looked like nothing could stop Fate. My heart pounded with each and every panting breath their passion produced between them, and I tingled with magic as they discovered that theirs combined. Bravo - I loved my escape into Dark Heat! The author definitely pulled me into this interesting world, libido first!
