5 out of 5 stars Life changing book!   September 7, 2010
Piotr M. Capar
This book changed my life! And it will change yours too!

I make twice what I used to, work for myself, spend more time abroad then at home, and have never been happier.

Ohh and did I mention I'm only 22?

Get this book! You can't go wrong!

Totalmente recomendable.

Manu.

5 out of 5 stars An Excellent Guide to Simplifying Life   September 5, 2010
Randall Degges (Los Angeles, CA)
'The 4-Hour Workweek' is a must-read book for anyone who is interested in changing their lifestyle.

Despite the name of the book, this book is NOT about becoming extremely rich, and retiring at 30. The book is about living every day to your fullest potential and constantly enjoying life, instead of putting off the enjoyment until retirement.

The basic idea is that, if you are able to both work remotely and work flexible hours (doesn't matter what profession you're in), than you can eventually apply the rules in this book to your life.

The book preaches several key principles to achieving an ideal lifestyle that allows you to do what you love without becoming a millionaire:

1. Live simply. Don't make unnecessary purchases. Learn to live without instead of with. There have been numerous studies done that conclusively show people who are content with less are happier and enjoy life more than those obsessed with money and material objects.

2. Instead of working madly to make lots of money, instead work only as much as necessary to live your ideal lifestyle. Whether it be living in Thailand, or in NYC. Time is money. By reducing the time you spend making money, you are freeing up your most valuable resource (time), which is truly limited.

3. If you seen an opportunity to free up more time for a cost, then do it. By taking advantage of outsourcing, automation, and various other tools, you can reduce your workload and increase your value.

4. Focus on one thing at a time (whether it be work, fun, or love), and give it your fullest attention and dedication. This will help you to be more productive in smaller amounts of time, which can help you eliminate redundant work from your life.

etc.

Overall, the book is an excellent set of guidelines and suggestions for living a better life.

Life is too short not to read this book.

Ive read other books about self improvement and starting your own business. This book combines the best of them and makes things actionable which is why this book beats all the rest.
